Conditions

What Kathleen treats

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • ADHD
  • Mood disorders
  • PTSD
  • OCD
  • Insomnia
  • Eating disorders

Eating disorder care is provided as part of a treatment team. Kathleen works alongside an existing medical provider, dietitian, and therapist rather than as a sole provider.

Kathleen's approach to medication management involves a careful initial assessment, and she rarely prescribes medication on the first visit.

Kathleen also treats other psychiatric conditions. Please note that as a small private practice, Kathleen does not have the capacity to manage serious mental illness, defined as being unable to work or attend school due to mental illness, or being on disability due to mental illness.

If that is your situation, your primary care provider can help you find a program suited to that level of care, and the crisis numbers listed at the bottom of this page are available at any time.

How care works

In person first, then telehealth

The first step in determining what kind of treatment would work best for you is a thorough assessment. Typically, a new patient assessment involves between 1 and 4 visits for consultation. Kathleen will talk with you about your current situation and concerns, your history, and any prior or ongoing psychiatric or medical treatment. After this assessment, Kathleen will discuss a treatment or referral plan with you, and together you will decide on the best course for you.

Your first appointment
The first appointment is conducted in person and lasts 60-90 minutes (60 minutes for Adults, 90 minutes for Child/Adolescent). The full address is provided when your appointment is scheduled.
Appointments after that
Subsequent visits may be held either in person or virtually, so you or your child can be seen from home, school, or work.
Washington State only
Kathleen is licensed for telehealth in Washington. Patients need to be physically located in Washington at the time of a telehealth visit.
Initial assessment
Typically one to four sessions, so that you and Kathleen can establish mutual fit.
